I Have Seen the Light!

Yeah! Gracie is finally potty trained. We are of course still dealing with nighttime, but she is doing really good. No more diapers! It's been three days now, so we are excited. Pretty sad that this is something I would get excited about...four down, one to go!

Emilee and the Bee

Well, Emilee participated in the third grade spelling bee on Friday and won! She went over her spelling words several nights in a row with me and Delon. We knew that she would do well, but we weren't expecting her to win. I think she was very surprised herself! But she has always done well in spelling and really had a good experience. Now she just waits to find out when the next competition is. Delon was able to go and watch, I couldn't make it, so he called me when it was over singing,"We are the Champion." Very strange phone call, but very good news. We are so proud of her!

Princess Potty

I have been in the process of potty training Gracie now on and off for the past 6 mos. Oh I hate it!! I am not patient enough to do it, especially with her. It has been quite a challenge. She wants so badly to be like a princess, but unfortunately, there is no Princess Potty. So until I come upon some miracle, I guess I will just have to work on my patience.

Winter Events

The end of January and very beginning of February we have Riley and Emilee's birthdays. It's very draining financially throughout the winter months. We have one event right after another...Christmas, New Years, Riley's B-day, Super Bowl and Emilee's B-day. It seems if we aren't spending money on gifts, we're buying food, and lots of it! Anyway, here are some pictures from those events. Enjoy!

Snow Bunnies

Emilee's cousins came up the end of January to stay for a weekend. While they were here they took in a few sled rides and posed for the camera. They're not comfortable in front of the camera at all, are they?! :)

I Wasn't Kidding!!

See what I mean? I wasn't kidding when I said we had a lot of snow. These pictures are even after we had a few warm days and some of it had already melted. But I did take these pictures after a new snowfall...which is much prettier to look at than melted brown snow. The kids have had so much fun. We live right next to the golf course, so they go out a lot with the neighbors and sled down the golf course hills. I've never been out there, but apparently it's quite the spot! There's a wooded area that some of the kids like, we've even had a few serious injuries in the ward already...broken ankle, broken leg. But my kids aren't allowed there, so we've been lucky so far.
