Spring Break - Grand Canyon

We decided at the last minute, which quite frankly happens to be the way we do most trips around here, to go to the Grand Canyon for Spring Break.  I found it strange that at the age of 38, I still had not been to the Grand Canyon. I have gone around it and over it, but it was time to see it in person.

Now this was a very short and sweet trip, most of which was accomplished in the one day we spent walking around the entire south rim. It was still early, so some areas were closed off.

This place is spectacular...beautiful and really amazing. The colors, the views and the history behind it all. The family had a great time and we were able to get some great pictures and spend some much needed together time.

I have to say, I wasn't as nervous as I thought I would be. Leading up to the time we left, I kept having those awful nightmares where your child goes flying off the edge of something and you're left helpless to watch them fall in slow motion...

Luckily, that never actually happened.

On a lighter note, the trip was successful and I think my children have in some small way become more appreciative of the world around them...especially if it's a sheer drop a mile down.

Good times!!

16 years

I have to say, I can't believe I'm already here at this time in my life. It's gone by so fast. Everything happened very different than I thought, surprisingly. But they have all, for the most part, been good surprises.

Lots of great moments, and some not-so-fun moments. Five pretty amazing children, and a family that I would do anything for. The Lord has definitely blessed me...
