My sweet Gracie-girl

Now you can see why we love her smile.

The King, the Queen and the Jester!

Snow White...another dress to add to her collection!

Gracie with her singing Barbie...

Gracie is four now. The time has passed quickly. I was looking through old photos while trying to organize at the same time. I found myself flipping through all of them again and again...trying to remember what each day may have been like. I definitely remember the day Gracie was born, because she just couldn't wait! ( that was an intense 45 min.) Gracie has always been a girly-girl. She loves princesses, pink, lip gloss, high heels, dancing...the list goes on and on. She's also very independent, heaven forbid you flush the toilet for her! (that's another story). But through all of the drama, Gracie is such a sweet girl. She loves her brother Jake, and big sister Emilee. I think she wants to be just like Emilee when she gets bigger. Gracie helps to remind us of the simple pleasures, like playing, reading, coloring and picking flowers. We are grateful for Gracie and her smile. I just wish I could experience those first few years with her again...those were good times but busy times(with four kids)and I often wonder if I payed enough attention to all the little things she did. Gracie has helped me to recognize some of those things that are most important, like being there and responding when they look to you for approval after they've done something, or smiling when you see them come in the room, instead of acting like you're being bothered...even spotting the butterfiles way across the street in the neighbors yard while they dance around the flowers. I would be an empty shell of a person without my kids...they help me to be better, try harder and love deeper. Happy Bithday Gracie girl...we love you!!

I can't believe Gracie is four. I love the stuff you write about your kids. It really makes me think and want to be better about remembering the little things. Your kids are darling.

Happy Birthday Gracie, we love you too. Amy-- That was very well said. You really have a way with words and you are a good mommy to your wonderful five children. I am glad you take time to recognize these things, because you think you are grateful now, you will be even more grateful later. Children are blessings and gifts from our Father in Heaven and some people don't get it until it is too late, you know? That is what I was trying to say on our family blog earlier( remember the Handprint comments?) Keep up the good work. Love you tons- Mom PS---They are lucky to have you as you are to have them.

You have all admired the way Amy is able to describe the intimate feelings and simple pleasures of life's experiences. This is a talent that Amy has had for most of her life. Amy was an author and descriptor of life long ago. She has been very cognizant of the many different personalities around her and especially the beauties of the earth. She has a close relationship with the creator and understands intimately the choice blessings of knowing of His creations both human and earthly as well as the eternal perspective. If anyone is grateful for the beauty and gracefulness and civility of a child it is me, her father. Thank you Amy for making our life so joyful and happy. Dad

What a sweet post! Gracie is such a beautiful little girl! I can't believe she is 4!!! I didn't realize she and Kenzi were the same age (Kenzi will be 4 in November). Thank goodness we have these sweet little spirits to remind us what life is all about!
